Tron is just an amazing movie; way ahead of its time. I grew up with this movie and I'm still in awe of it today. It's said because they cheated at award shows for Best Special Effects, saying that they had 'cheated' by using Computer Generated Graphics. Of course, what movie would be complete without them today? Definitely a must-see movie, especially if you're into the evolution and history of Film and Tv. I recommend the making-of featurette as well. Two thumbs up for Tron! Re-Rez Ram!

Dana, you can say that again!

Renegade Program (8 out of 10 )
WOW! I'm surprised I could find this online. I recall being mesmerized by this film at the tender age of 9, when it came out, and with the 20th Anniversary DVD, the original film, the video games and the upcoming sequel, I will FOREVER be blown away by it. TRON is definitely an AMAZING, multi-layered filmic treat: on one hand, a story about a rightfully-disgruntled software creator trying to get justice for a wrong done him by his power-hungry, kleptomaniac, shady employer(s); on the other hand, a story about a security program, a mighty warrior, trying to bring freedom and justice to his electronic world - an electronic world ravaged by a tyrannical beast of a program, the MCP, and his subservient despot, Sark. Yet still, on other levels, you have the timeless story of good vs. evil, oppression vs. freedom, AI vs Organic Intelligence, Freedom vs. Tyranny, as well as the ancient metaphors & symbols of savior vs demon, David vs Goliath, the colors Red vs Blue (which even to this present-day highly political climate, really brings home some symbolism), and several other symbols and metaphors, which really makes me comprehensively appreciate it even more. I'm more than disappointed that AMPAS had the audacity to snub "TRON"- then again, it's not the first time, as they snubbed, "Transformers" and gave the effects oscar to, "The Golden Compass" - seems like any sci-fi film dealing with technology is too much for AMPAS to properly grasp and respect. Later for them! If you like intriguing sci-fi, and if you are fascinated by computers, BY ALL MEANS, check out TRON.

I like this movie a lot (even though its older than me by more than 10 years) and by the way, this is the OLDEST live-action-ish movies that I like. (and I don't know why) I really don't have much else to say, so ill say that its a very good movie(even with a not-perfect storyline) then again, I am usually easily impresseed also, I agree with dana. RE REZ RAM.
